Entitlement provisions

After achieving at least 1540 service days (equivalent to 7 years of service) you may, with the permission of your employer, take long service leave (6 weeks) or if you cease employment you may take a lump sum payment.

Between 1540 (7 years of service) and 2200 service days (10 years of service) you continue to accrue long service leave at a pro rata rate up to 8 2/3rd weeks of long service leave.

After the 10 years of service mark is passed you accrue long service leave for each additional completed year of service.
You cannot make a claim under any circumstances unless you have first accrued the minimum 1540 days of service (7 years of service).

NOTE: BEFORE MAKING ANY PLANS TO TAKE LONG SERVICE LEAVE YOU SHOULD CHECK WITH THE BOARD TO CONFIRM THAT YOU DO IN FACT HAVE AN ENTITLEMENT.
